T-Tap Connectors are perhaps one of the most secure solder-less connections out there without the use of crimping. Used by intertwining two wires around a slim piece of metal that is pressed tightly together by means of a plastic "slit" as the wires exit out of the sides. The most spoke of disadvantage of this connection is that it sticks out from the wire about 1/4 inches, so possibly not the best to use when space is very limited.
